Additional Protected Industrial Actions by MUA at Patrick Terminals
On Tuesday 22nd of June 2021, Patrick Terminals advised that they had been notified of a "Protected Industrial Action (PIA)" by the Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) at Patrick Terminals Sydney.
The details of this notification for the Patrick Terminals - Sydney AutoStrad are as follows:
Commencing Thursday 24th June 2021, 1 hour stoppages for a 21-day period at:
0500 hours
1300 hours
2100 hours
As a result, Patrick Terminals will be unable to release VBS slot for 0400-0500, 1200-1300 and 2000-2100 during this period and all bulk runs will cease during these 1 hour stoppages. Given the strong import and export demand currently in Sydney, Patrick Terminals is committed to minimising the impacts of these stoppages on the continuity of the supply chain, working with customers to minimise any disruptions.
Following this notification, an additional "Protected Industrial Action (PIA)" notification by the Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) was received at Patrick Terminals Melbourne. The increased industrial actions are unfortunately causing disruptions for customers, but Patrick Terminals have expressed that they are engaging with MUA on a daily basis to find a fair arrangement for all involved parties.
Due to the continued industrial actions, the current status at Patrick Terminals (as of Wednesday 25th June 2021) are as follows:
