Congestion Fee Withdrawal - Auckland, New Zealand to/from World

Over the last two years, We have seen increased delays for vessels arriving at Ports of Auckland (POAL) extending transit times. As a result of these operational delays, a few carriers reconsider using POAL or call at alternative NZ ports prior, and in some cases are discharging Auckland cargo in Tauranga which would require transhipment.

Following an improvement in vessel turnaround times at the Ports of Auckland, many of the Shipping Lines are in the process of withdrawing their Auckland Port Congestion Surcharge. One of them is Maersk.

The operational situation in Auckland, New Zealand, is improving with vessel schedules expected to stabilize from June. Maersk advises the removal of the Auckland Congestion Fee (CFO as Congestion Fee Origin and CFD as Congestion Fee Destination), applicable to cargo with Price Calculation Date (PCD) effective from 1st June, 2022.
